Al Akhawayn Alumni Association Celebrates Remarkable Success and a Key Milestone in Annual Gala Dinner Fundraiser

Casablanca, Morocco (February 22, 2024) – The Al Akhawayn Alumni Association (AAA) celebrated the outstanding success of its 2024 Alumni Gala Dinner, held on February 16 at Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche,  with the presence of members of the Al Akhawayn University Board of Trustees and esteemed guests, including His Excellency Mr. André Azoulay, advisor to the His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and Mrs. Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun, Vice-Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès, both members of the Al Akhawayn University Board of Trustees. The evening was also an opportunity for the association to honour former and current Presidents of the Al Akhawayn University, namely Dr. Rachid Belmokhtar, Dr. Driss Ouaouicha, and Dr. Amine Bensaid. 


Alumni from various walks of life gathered for an evening of celebration, unity, and impactful giving. Thanks to the unwavering generosity of alumni attendees and the steadfast support of sponsors, the Al Akhawayn Alumni Association successfully raised a substantial amount, signalling profound engagement from the community. The total funds will be dedicated to empowering a talented student from the Middle Atlas region pursue their higher education at the prestigious Al Akhawayn University, free of charge, for the full duration of their academic curriculum.


The success of the Alumni Gala Dinner is a testament to the strength and unity of Al Akhawayn alumni community, a best in-class in Morocco. The event showcased the power of collective giving and the positive change that can be achieved when individuals come together with a shared commitment to making a difference. The Al Akhawayn Alumni Association expresses profound gratitude to all participants and sponsors for their invaluable contributions, both financial and moral. The commitment to creating positive change demonstrated by the alumni community is truly inspiring, and this achievement marks a significant milestone for the association.

Your generation will extend this performance and will give it even more depth, singularity and strength,” expressed His Excellency Mr. André Azoulay, Advisor to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Member of the Board of Trustees of Al Akhawayn University.
